Recent In-Home Demonstration for Worldwide Week of Workshop with Stampin' Up!

Shandell requested a demo in her lovely home on Saturday, so not to disappoint I prepared 3 cards (2 were suggested by Stampin' Up! the other I scraplifted most of the idea (can not remember where from though). Everyone went home with 3 cards and full tummies after all the lovely nibblies. Thank you Shandell for inviting me over to demo some great products.

Heart attack - Better Health Channel

A heart attack occurs when one of the arteries that supplies blood to the heart is blocked. The underlying cause is coronary heart disease (CHD). Experiment in progress

I am experimenting with my kids. I have given each of them $50 to purchases their food for the next week. This includes their snacks. Why??? I hear you ask.... Well the truth is I am sick of hearing "Mum there is nothing to eat. Mum what is for lunch, tea or breakfast?" So off they both toddled into the supermarket. Miss M into Coles (so she can use her staff discount card, points to her for initiative) Mr G wanted to go to Aldi (points also to him as it is the cheapest in town)

Miss M purchased 1 bottle of coke for the week, well it didn't last past tea time as her BF was over for a meal and he loves coke. She tried to keep it from him by pushing the half empty bottle under the table so he couldn't drink any more.

Mr G bought 3 bottles of softdrink costing less than Miss M's 1 bottle of coke.

The both bought meat. Miss M bought 2 piddly pork steaks for the price of 2kg's of mince the Mr G purchased.

Miss M bought lollies while Mr G purchased a cake mix and 1kg of yoghurt. Now don't forget these kids are 15 1/2 & just turned 12.

I am not sure who will last the longest but I have a heavy feeling Mr G will. Both did have some change left from their original $50. There are allowed the use toilet paper, milk, eggs etc but all else thay have to provide.

Miss M had a pasta meal tonight with sauce & almost a whole bottle of coke (thanks to the BF Sam).
Mr G had rissoles he made from the mince and a mixed salad (pre-mixed packet). Mr G still has some left over for lunch tomorrow.

Let me know who you think will last the distance..... Or if you try it out on your kids........

Who loves to check out Scrappers Haven when they visit Hervey Bay? Well ladies if you do you better go in for 1 last shop as they are being forced to close up shop by the local council (due to some nasty backbiting by unknown person/s business/es etc) but they will still be open via their web based store. Another proud moment in my life

Today it was my son's turn to make me Proud to be a mum. I can now appreciate being a mum.

We were shopping in the local mall and my son and his mate wanted to look in KMart for the NERF guns (newest trend for tweens) when I could not find them I had them called over the loud speaker when my phone rings. It is a friend letting me know he is on his way to the front of the store.

My friend finds me and tells me that she was beaming with pride also.

She was absolutely astounded that my son had found her and asked he to phone me to ask where I was so he could find me just seconds before my announcement went through the store. She was proud that he had chosen her, trusted her enough to phone me (he even knew my mobile number off by heart)

Thank you my children. I now know that I am doing a great job in raising my children, with respect (sometimes Miss M) and forethought to let me know what is happening around them and what the consequences are for me.

I LOVE YOU BOTH xxxxxxx

A Proud Moment

My daughter is a typical teenager, constantly disrespecting me & other family members etc (as you may aready know, read previous posts)

Well she can rarely shock me. Today she texted me to let me know she had an exam at school & could not make it to her TAFE course (which she does on a Thursday afternoon). When I did not reply (phone was on silent mode, I was at the Dr's) she phoned me from the school's office to tell me in person.

OMG she thought ahead!!! What a shock as normally she thinks only here and now.

Where have you been recently........

Well late Friday evening after a Catholic dinner for Good Friday consisting of crispy fried Salmon fillets on a bed of smushed peas & a good helping of mashed potato, wedge of lemon & a twist of orange & sprig of parsley (for decoration of course) we headed off for the big smoke of Mungar to visit with my mum & her new partner.

We arrived about 10pm. I slept on the floor while the 2 kids slept in the Queen sized bed (hubby was working all through the Easter break). Realising I left my medications at home I could not sleep. I was woken by DS's mobile phone alarm at 7 am. Thank you Son!!!

We did the dash into town of Maryborough & got a few extra groceries for a barbecue at my sister's & her boyfriend's place at Yerra. A good feed of seafood, steak & salad went down a treat. mmmmmm Yum

A ride on the horse lands me with so many bruises on my legs & thighs. No, I did not fall off !!! The saddle wasn't designed for big mummy's (I am overweight & I know that I am) the saddle I rode in was mine from when I was a kid growing up on a farm. G J Schneider saddle is a western style saddle with high thigh pads (pommel) & tall seat (cantle) which my big bum (I have have a curved lower spine at my coccyx - a fall when young did this damage, which makes my bum looks so big) just fitted in it the seat.

Yes, FOUND ruler & scissors too.

Both my darling children had these items buried under 2 tonne of crap on their bedroom floors.

My son had my ruler ("but you said it was white, mum"). I went through his bedroom like a cyclone & took out 2 full garbage bags full of rubbish/crap/paper/wool. Under his toy rubbish bin (like those sold at Reject Shop) was my RULER!!!!! He helped me empty my scrapping goodies from 20 Feb visit & borrowed my ruler cause just cause & forgot to return it mum.

My daughter looked me in the eye on the way to school "No, mum I didn't take your scissors I have my own" but low and behold I found them on her makeup table under crap/makeup/hair extensions. When confronted with this she stated "I don't know how they got there mum".

KIDS WHO'D HAVE THEM!!!!!! If you do I have 2 free, toilet trained & mannered.

I have lost my 30 cm Clear Plastic with a Stainless Steel cutting Edge ruler with 1/2 cm or 5 mm black markings thru the centre. I love this much missed ruler. (add TEARS here)

Last seen at the Sunday Scrap Session. I may have dropped it either to or from my car, or left it on my table. Please let me know if you may have seen it or picked it up.

Happy 40th Birthday to me

As I mentioned in my last message I have fantastic friends.

This morning I popped into my son's school to see my friend Jodi (she was his Yr5 teacher & since then we have become friends). Also the school's secretary shares the same birthday so I had to wish her a happy birthday (as you do). The off to have a quick hot chocolate with Sarah (whom I have been friends with since our girls were in pre-school, way back in 2000) off to TAFE to enroll my princess into Cert III in Beauty Service (starts tomorrow night) a phone call later & I was off again to Gloria Jeans this time to have a cuppa tea with my Best Friend SANDRA. We did a little shopping in Hinkler Place & off to Spotlight we went, just because.

Leaving Sandra at Spotlight, I headed home & facebooked a little, had a quick cat nap before the kids traipsed in. Jodi popped in at about 5pm & we had a quick catch up (as we haven't really got together over the school holidays). Shower time & a quick dress & time for make-up. Miss M did my make-up & I went through every dress I have owned since 1990 (for Jodi to wear, can't let her wear her school clothes out!!) Miss M then did Jodi's make-up too, but not before spitting on and ear bud & cleaning mascara from our faces - YUK!!!! ("but it did the job MUM" she claimed)

Off to the Brothers Club for dinner with the girls, 9 in total & 1 girl. Sandra had me in a headband which flashed & stated that I am "Naughty & 40" plus a "Kiss Me It's My Birthday" badge. The other guest wore masks or name tags that stated that they were either SEXY, DIVA or HORNY etc........

A lovely dinner has eaten by all, then time for cake, which I must tell you was lovingly made by SANDRA. As you can see from the above names you can guess what the shape of the cake was.....................

While we were all enjoying the cake a few elderly bystanders came by to give me a kiss on the forehead (well my badge did say to do it) before they & we all headed home.

I want to say a Huge THANK YOU to everyone who wished my a happy birthday, presents, flowers & cards.

I LOVE YOU ALL (especially you SANDRA) you have all made my day so thoroughly enjoyable. xxxxxxxxx

I know my posts here have been few and far between.

I just wanted to let you all know what I didn't realise until recently. I have fantastic friends who love and care for me regardlessly.

Firstly, you want to know why I am surprised? A few years back I thought I had a best friend (she was my maid of honour) and I was telling her a story about how I mentioned that she was my best friend, and then she hit me with a 10 tonne boulder, she told me that she only thought of me as someone she went-to-school-with-friend. WHAT!!! Then why did she agree back in 2000, to be my maid of honour and travel 12+ hrs by bus to do it??? I didn't & still don't understand this.

So, since then, I have been very careful not to get to close to any particular friend for fear of this happening again, I don't think I could have gone through that pain again.

But, on Friday afternoon I found out that I do have many friends who love me. They are having a 40th birthday party for me tomorrow. (My husband is away and he not into having any kind of party regardless of who it is or why, don't know why this is).

Thank you Sandra (All Things Crafty) for organising this, I really do appreciate it. Yes, I did cry when Sandra phoned to let me in on her secret party in case there was someone else who I wanted to come along, because, I didn't think I am worthy of friends. And now I know I am.

So Happy 40th Birthday to for tomorrow (Just to rub my hubby's nose in it for not throwing me a party, slacker)

Where have I been lately....

I have been asked this questions so many times since I last posted here. So, where do I start?
Some of you may know that recently my DD had surgery to remove a 5cm cyst from her ovary. Unfortunately, DD doesn't know how to sit still for any longer than 5 minutes and has managed to open her wounds up and got an infection in them too which required a visit back to the GP for antibiotics and dressings too. She wouldn't let mum dress them to start with because mum might see something she isn't supposed to (I think she forgot that I powdered and wiped that area more times than I care to count and that I also have the same body parts - IS GROSE MUM)

I am still struggling to find a job that fits into school hours so I can be home with my kids, (since my DH works away from home 5 on and 5 off). I didn't have kids to pay someone else to do the same thing that I do for free. They are my responsibility after all. I have no issues with others that do!!!! So please don't send me any nasty messages or emails for my thoughts and the way I was raised.

I haven't scrapbooked a page for a whole year now. Although I do from time to time think I should pull out my stash and do a page but I don't seem to have any urge to follow through with it. But making a few cards on the other hand is different. I have made about 200 or so since joining Stampin' Up 12 months ago, (wow hasn't the time gone by so quickly)!!!

My DH lost his licence almost 3 months ago now and it has driven me nuts. I am so counting the hours till he gets it back. Speeding is a dangerous thing and I do not recommend it to anyone.

On the final note: my mum is coming here later today but there is a motive behind her visit though, she is going to have an all over body mole scan done. She is only here for just over 32 hours, some visit hey!
Whereas she sees my other sisters at least once a week and another for a week straight (twice so far this year). She was here for her 1st visit in June which also lasted only 27 hours and she had with her my nieces and nephew (it was great to see them - No my sister didn't come with her children, just my mum did).

Wow, I did have a lot on my chest, considering the early hour of the morning it is now 2.30am. My washing machine is doing it thing and I must toddle off to the shower and then to bed to count the minutes before my alarm clock goes off at 7am. Being an insomniac is so much fun NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could say I just whipped this card up in just a few minutes. Ok, yes I did whip it up fairly quick but that was only because my dear friend Katie had already done the hard yards.

This card is so beautiful but only because of Katie's embellishment. Katie made this embellishement for the local scrap club's green/spring monthly swap and it just suited my card perfectly.

What do I do?

Today Miss M was to go with a friend to do a bit of window shopping at the local shopping centre.
But the only thing wrong with this is, the girl she was going with had her mother come and collect Miss M from our home and to go from there.
But the childs mother collecting Miss M failed to come in to my home and introduce herself to me before taking my child from our home.
What kind of mother would take another mother's child without introducing herself first to the childs mother. Needless to say this all happened in a moment of seconds while I was on the telephone.
Regardless to say, Miss M got a phone call from this very distressed mother demanding she return home immediately.
When Miss M was dropped home, the mother who took her from my home, definately got what for for taking someone's child without at least letting the mother know she was leaving.

If I was to call the police what would I tell them: No surname known of child, no known address of child, unknown model of car driven, no first name of the childs mother who had taken Miss M, no description of the childs mother etc

How stupid are some people........ So, Miss M is not allowed out of my sight again for quite a long time to come!!!!!!!

My 3rd Stampin' Up! Workshop

My lovely friend Shandell was so kind to host an in-home workshop with me yesterday afternoon. She welcomed me into her happy home with open arms. As I set up my goodies I met her extended family inluding her little nephew (now I know why she raves on about him, he is such a cutie)

As the guests arrived I was surprised how many of them I knew prior to knowing Shandell.

There was my previous mentor (from way back in the day when I did Tupperware) and long time friend Joy and her lovely friend Pamela. Cassie whom I have know now for some 5 years and her friend Donna and her mother Joan. Shandell's best friend Kathy and her little bubby Mitchell (wow, what a heart breaker he will be in the years to come) and Shandell's lovely MIL Dianne.

I am sure everyone had a fun, entertaining time. My workshop was only supposed to be 2 hours long, but, I was there of approx. 5 hours. There were some little incidents that 1 can only giggle at. Poor Shandell, I hope the ink stains come out of your beautiful kitchen bench.

I hope eveyone had fun making a little something different for christmas gift cards.

Monday - OMG ........................

I almost had to call the police on Monday afternoon.

My DD went missing for over 1 hour after school (in her school uniform too). She went for a blood test and was feeling a little nauseous so she wanted to sit in the car and chill out. So thinking I could trust her I went with my mum and DS to buy a Wii & Wii Fit for the extended families. Going back to the car DD said she was fine and would look after DS while I quickly ducked up again to the supermarket to buy a hot chook for tea. When I got back to the car DD was missing. DS said she had a friend meet her at the car and that they went up into the shopping centre. I was so mad, as she wasn't supposed to leave the car let alone leave DS alone. I am so thankful that I only gone 5 minutes but DD managed to escape. I called her mobile and it went straight to voice mail. So, she knew that what she had done was so wrong.

I drove around looking for her and searched the shopping centre too, I had her called over the intercom too. Eventually her friend called me and asked if DD was with me and NO she wasn't her friend called in her mum who happens to work in the shopping centre. The mum then phoned me and said that DD was with her.

I tell you I was so cranky by now that it took DD an hour to call me and let me know that she was okay. When DD and the mum met me back in the car park DD was crying and so she should have I was so ready to kick her bum all the way home.

DD said she had to make an important phone call and had no reception on her mobile phone and had to go up into the shopping centre to get reception. But, DD didn't think that excuse through as I had reception because I got her phone calls. I got 4 different versions of the reason why she got out of the car and the only 1 I believe is DS's.

Boy isn't DD not happy with me as when she got home everything that she holds dear was withheld from her for 1 month.

before going to be she tried to negotiate her punishment down to 15 days and "she had learnt her lesson".

I went through her school bag Tuesday morning before school started and found: 1 curling iron, 2 lip gloss', 1 mascara, 1 eyelash curler, 1 foundation cover-up stick.

I caught her last night trying to steal back some of the confiscated items from me plus she had been into my room going through the hidden stash. DD has popped her eyelash curler into her bra but silly girl didn't hide it too well as I could see it. Obvioulsy she has learnt her lesson NOT!!!!

This morning she went to school with no make-up on and she come home with make-up on. I can see that she still hasn't learnt anything by being punished.

I am at my wits end with this child. Bring back smacking - it never hurt me to learn my lesson that way, as I remembered what a good smack felt like and I didn't dare disobey my mum.

My 1st Workshop as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator

was on Saturday the 15th.
I was so nervous I thought I would wet myself.
After 3 hours at my hostess' home I headed off home and almost cried all the way.
Oh well, the say "Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try, try again" so I am doing just that.

I am placing my first order next week and my wonderful friends have or are placing orders with me. I can't wait to share the excitment and my goodies with them, we will play with all of them as soon as they come.

Chasing Desperately - VERY PUNNY

I know it sounds weird but I am seriously looking for this Stampin Up stamp set.

Why???????? (I hear you ask)

The truth of the matter is some time back I was at a fundraiser and purchased a few tickets in this bottle stall - (you know the one where you pay say $5 and get say 10 tickets and the matching tickets are attached to 10 different bottles)

Well, I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to end up with 4 lovely funny stamps from believe it or not from the VERY PUNNY Stampin Up stamp set, but, I have since found out that those stamps are from a set of 8 and no longer available from Stampin Up :-(

I have been on the internet and searched EBAY consistantly but to no avail (well that technically isn' completely true there are 2 available in USA but postage and the exchane rate would kill me)

So, if you know anyone who has a VERY PUNNY Stampin Up stamp set & would like to perhaps sell it to me I would be most greatful.

I know I hear you again what would I do with the 4 I already have if by some miracle someone out there is willing to part with theirs, well, I would donate those 4 that I do currently have to my local scrap club which meets every 4th Sunday (it is a non profit club)

Please keep my aunt (my mum's older sister) in your prayers. My aunt passed away last night in Nambour Hospital - aged 62.
She was a lung and bowel cancer sufferer, but complications after her surgery last week, unfortunately, forced family members to make the decision to turn off her life support machine last night.
She is the first of my mum's family to pass away out of her 10 living members (mum's eldest brother died when he was 8 years old from a sandcastle cave in - many many years before many of my mum's sibling were born - my mum is the 7th child of the 11 born to my grandparents)

Good morning stampers! I am very happy to be bringing you another 3 entries today! Yay! At this rate we may even beat the entry record (31)! Here are entries 19, 20, and 21.

First we have this great find-a-word card by Chloe Nielsen: Chloe used her alphabet stamps to create the find-a-word background! She has used Heidi Grace papers, vellum, Kaisercraft rhinestones and Sparkle Mod Podge for extra bling!

Next we have this robot-tastic birthday card by Suzanne McQuade:
Suzanne used her alphabet stamps to write the sentiment of the front of her card. She has also used bazzill cardstock, Darkroom Door robot collection Photochip, and felt and scraps to complete her card.

And last but not least we have this great masculine birthday card card from Helen Ross: Helen used her alphabet stamps to create the background of her card. She has also stamped the "Happy Birthday Mate" stamp and embossed it with gold embossing powder.

Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me

This afternoon I completed a layout with a pre-prepared background paper. I spent 7 minutes from start to finish cutting out the flower, and rest of the time poking holes for the brads.

The layout is of my mother's parents and some of her siblings at "The Pines" in Hervey Bay, where my family camped for 30+ years until the council closed it.

Thank you to everyone one who emailed, telephoned me or sent me a text message for my birthday, today. I love you all. It was nice to know who loves you on a day when you are feeling every year of their age.

My DH, DD & DS eventually got me a nice new fan, but not just a average fan but a stainless steel bladed fan (#1 setting can almost blow you over if you are standing too close). I LOVE IT! (of course I do I picked it, as usual). My wonderful mum gave me a set of bath sheets in Navy, it covers a multitude a stains that the kids make - my kids use bath towels to clean up paint spills etc instead of paper towels.

My scrapping girlfriends came over for our usual scrapping night and I was surprised that I was the only 1 in PJ's.

I absolutely love the glass balls that Katie gave me, you are just too naughty.

My beautiful friend Sandra gave me a lovely quote book, GJ coffee voucher and a SUPER bubble wand (yes the kids variety, because she knew that I would go nutty over it) I used it on Saturday morning and drove the next door neighbours kids crazy chasing the bubbles as they went over the fence into their yard. I love IT!!!
OOPS I almost forgot to mention the BEAUTIFUL Princess Castle Chocolate Cake that Sandra made from scratch. I don't have photos (thank goodness as I look my age now). You are just too much Sandra - THANK YOU!!!! my friend.

It is of our wonderful cat Puddy/Pudda - my husband gave her that name (when we first got her the vet asked him her name and that is all he could think of How Original hey!!) This fleabag (not she doesn't have fleas- she is bathed in our downstairs shower every 2 weeks) I call her that to tease the kids (who doesn't tease their kids???) is now almost 6 years old and the bloody laziest cat I have known, she sleeps more than the 20 hours a cat normally sleeps and only wakes to eat or toilet. Occassionally the kitten in her comes out to play. My DD took this photo a few weeks ago just for the fun of it.

Christmas is upon us yet again. I am sure that as we get older the weeks get shorter. I am as sure as eggs that when I was a kid that christmas came around a lot longer than it does now.
Blink and easter will be here.

I haven't been up to much. A baby shower and christmas get together at Danielle's with a few friends, Morning tea each Friday at Gloria Jean's with a few friends (if you wish to join us we meet approx 9-9.30am), sewing boxers for DS and dresses for DD, making christmas cards, spending money (who doesn't) and hanging out with my kids. They aren't such a bad bunch if you can see past their constant bickering with each other, their constant yelling at each other, their constant fighting.

Life is for living it is too short.

Yes! I am the mother of a teenager - a teenage daughter no less.

Wow, and life at my house is just yahoo!! party!! mood swings!! little brother bashing!! shall I go on......

I can hear all of you out there that have young daughters going that will never happen in my house - ha ha ha ha that is what I thought too.

Those of you out there that have older daughters are saying that she will grow out of it in the next 5-6 years or never get better and it never ends.

I have earnt every grey hair on my head since she turned 10.

Where do I start? Since my last entry, so much has happened.

I went to see the school counsellor at my DD high school and whilst there dd’s mobile phone received a text message. (Nothing unusual I heard you think) but it was from a friend of DD who was in class with dd. It was a picture text message with a photo of DD, friend who sent text and another friend (all in school uniform) posing in the students toilet mirror.

Needless to say, the school counsellor was on the phone immediately to the class teacher and asked where texter was at. Where upon the teacher was advised that the texter had just texted whilst in class.

I left in my trusty little car and got as far as the school car park when the Year coordinator phoned my mobile and asked if I could return to the school as the Year coordinator had caught my dd with a mobile phone, which wasn’t hers. Although she had claimed that it was, to the coordinator and he knew that this was a lie!

I returned to the school, went looking for the Year coordinator and found both my dd and the texter sitting in front of the Year coordinator office door (both appeared unfazed by the ordeal of being caught flouting the school rules).

A chat between myself, Year coordinator and school counsellor we decided that my dd would be put in detention for the rest of the day where she was to pick up rubbish and to also sit where she could be seen by any and all teachers who passed by the fish bowl. The texter I believe also got a similar detention but had to sit in the deputy principles office.

Upon returning home DD was put on a further 1 month ban making the total now to 2 months. This did not faze DD at all.

After getting home from DD's school I found that had my external Hard Drive had crashed big time and have lost all photos from the past 18 months lost as stupid me didn’t back them up to CD. Stupid me relying upon my fancy hard drive not to fail. I lost everything i had done or was working on in the past 18 months lost, gone forever. STUPID STUPID ME!!!

Then to top off a really fantastic day I was sacked from my job (yes you saw it right I was sacked) no real reason was given, except that I was more expensive to employ than a junior was. So much for experience!!

Therefore, that made my day just absolutely peachy. However, I did get to spend time with my rug rats over the school holidays. In addition, that was punishment for DD, as she had to hang out with mum all holidays.

OK, that said DD has since again broken the ban twice more: sneaking makeup from my room and putting it on behind her bedroom door as I am trying to enter her room to put away her folding. And her best excuse the second time was “I didn’t steal it mum, I put it on in your room mum, using your mirror mum, so I didn’t steal it mum, I just borrowed it”. Bravo for originality DD.

In between all this hoo-ha, I have managed to scrap quite a few layouts. I didn’t get many of my own done when I was working – I have trouble using other people’s photos, because you don’t know the people in the photos of the occasions behind the photos and whether or no the people are still together or had passed away. I am sure you know what I mean. I don’t have trouble using photos of friends as you know most of your friend’s family and it is not so hard.

I think in total I have scrapped 30 layouts in the past 6 weeks – hand written journaling and all!

DH is still working but his work runs out in the next week or so (this crush is finishing up) so hopefully he can get this other job being offered around town to work away for 5 days and come home for 5 days (I like the sound of that too!!)

Back in early August (several days after DS’s communion), I had a suspicious mole removed from my Right shin (4 stitches) and found it to be a malignant BCC (Basal Cell Carcinoma – skin cancer of sorts). This would refuse to heal and I have since had it re-excised (I had 15 stitches this time) and have since been given the all clear and the wound has healed quite well.

I am not afraid of scars as I was bought up with scars all around me. My mum has scars covering almost 40% of her body. When she was 11 camping at the beach with her family in 1960 (mum is #8 of 11 children), she was lighting a Metho stove to make dinner, it blew-up, and she is lucky to be alive. Her brother rolled her burning body out in the sand and mum had multiply skin grafts. Therefore, scars don’t worry me at all.

I am saddened to hear that the local SSS scrap club is wrapping up after 3 years. Nevertheless, I do understand that family issues come first.

Just when you think things can't get any worse

Well they do 10 fold.

DD has been caught breaking the ban I put in place (on Friday) She was caught out on Sunday when she snuck onto the Internet. To which she then lied to me saying that she wasn't using the Internet but I found out otherwise when I went through the website history on the family computer. So her ban is now for 2 months - it would have only been for 1 extra week but she lied and got caught lying so I made it and extra month instead. I am determined to make sure she understands that by telling the truth straight up is only going to get you into a small amount of trouble and by lying and then get caught doing so is going to get you more time out.

Last night I went through her room where I found make-up in a small Tupperware container hidden in her knickers draw. I then proceeded to go through her school bag and found the school diary (to which a parent is to sign each weekend) and found a note from the pc teacher telling me that DD had been given a bin duty as a punishment for disobeying a directive given not once but twice she disobeyed this order. This note was written in the school diary on Monday and my DD forged my signature to say that I had read the note. The Yr 8 coordinator had also left a note in the diary advising me that he expected not to see "white out" used in school diaries. This is again where my DD was going to forge my signature (she admitted finally after many more lies) I then found out the DD has been forging my signature for over 6 months using my signature to get out of participating in classes etc.

I asked her where the make-up had come from she stated then that she had phoned a class mate on Saturday (again breaking the ban) to buy her some make-up and bring it to school on Monday. DH had given both kids pocket money (I wasn't happy that DH had given DD money as she is on a ban). The class mate was to bring the rest of the make-up to school tomorrow (Wednesday). Bells are ringing here as DD story didn't add up and this didn't sit well with me at all as DH had only given DD the pocket money on Sunday afternoon. ????????

So needless to say I was so mad that I sent DD straight to bed after she had told numerous lies to cover up her forgeries. Therefore, I spent hours on the Internet last night trying desperately trying to get a direct email address for a teacher, but this is near on impossible to do and a generic email address is listed on the school website, so I tried my luck with it.

Early this morning I phoned the school requesting an urgent appointment with the Yr 8 Coordinator, DD's pc teacher and the school counsellor. I got an appointment with the Yr 8 Coordinator and DD's pc teacher first thing this morning to discuss DD deceptions, forgeries etc (but unfortunately the school counsellor was busy but made time to talk with my DD late this afternoon).

Both teachers were shocked that DD had been forging my signature for 6 months but the pc teacher said that she was getting suspicious about my not adding notes into DD's diary. I was advised that DD had 3 detentions last week, 2 for her make-up and 1 for her hair, now was my turn to be shocked.

Yr 8 Coordinator & the pc teacher were told of DD being bullied only a few weeks back by a fellow class mate.

They were both also advised of DD cuddling at school last week with her boyfriend, they were unaware that this had happened but knew who the boy was without my having to tell them who he was they just knew when I told them that the boy was 15 and DD is only 12.

After 1 hour of my trying to keep it together and not beat the living daylights out of DD for her constant deceptions, lies etc. We (myself, the Yr 8 Coordinator & the pc teacher) decided that DD would be constantly monitored by all her teachers and a report would be given to me by the end of next month as to her applying herself to her school work.

I am so afraid that the school will not ask her back next year with all the troubles she has been in. This is why I took her along to this meeting so show her that I LOVE HER and that is why I am doing this so she doesn't ruin a perfectly excellent education that we can give her (something I never had, and something my DH did but he threw it away to be Mr Cool).

During this meeting DD was once again asked about the make-up and when was she to get the rest back from her fellow classmate, DD said that she would get it later today from the classmate but the Yr 8 Coordinator said that he would get it from the classmate instead and I could collect it from the school office after school.

At the end of this meeting the Yr 8 Coordinator said he would go now and see the classmate and collect the makeup. This is when DD stated that she had stolen the makeup from where I had hidden it in my cupboard. This is what I had suspected all along, as the makeup was in a Tupperware container identical to those that I have in my cupboard. So DD is in more trouble as both the Yr 8 Coordinator & the pc teacher had seen DD lying outright in front of them. DD said she didn't want her classmate in trouble as the classmate didn't know anything about the make-up. DD admitted that the pocket money that DH had given her she had spent buying lunch and afternoon tea for all her friends.

I am not happy at all with all this rubbish my DD is putting us, as parents, through. But I will persist to try to show her right from wrong in the only way I know how.

After leaving the school this morning I had morning tea with Sandra and her DD but I was disgusted to find out that someone in my home had taken money from my purse. I don't know which child it was but, I can honestly say that DD does have a tuck shop at school that is open everyday and the DS's tuck shop is only open 2 days per week and that they can only buy things if it is ordered by a parent via the paper bag system.

This afternoon after school DD came home (after seeing the school counsellor) and made an apple crumble. The school counsellor suggested to DD that she do some housework to try and make amends this way and to also help my making tea once in awhile.

I have requested an appointment for myself to see the school counsellor on Friday so I can see what she suggests I do further with DD and her destructive behaviour towards herself, us as family and towards her future.

What do I do??? Where do I go from here??? Any suggestions???

I can honestly tell you that having a teenager (almost) is not any fun whatsoever! I had to forsake my weekly morning tea with the girls last Friday morning (sorry Sandra).

Last Thursday morning I approached my DD & asked about her New Boyfriend and whether they were thinking about cuddling and kissing at school and was told a blatant NO!! MUM OOH YUCK!

Then to my utmost horror I read her text messages (later that night) from her new boyfriend (mind you he is 15 she is not yet 13) saying he loved the cuddles they shared during the lunch break in the school library. Well any mother would possibly hit the roof drag the child from their slumber and possibly beat them senseless (that is what I want to do) but I held my cool and phoned her father who was at work in the truck between here and the next town. So he promptly phoned the young man and told him to cool the relationship as the 3 year gap in their ages was not wise. To which he agreed to. And then promptly texted my DD re: said phone call saying he was happy to cool the relationship for a while.

So when DD woke Friday morning she was told her mobile phone was being taken away from her and denied that anything happened at school the previous day until proof was shown to her via the text messages.

During the trip to school my DD stole the Sim card from her mobile phone while my back was turned.

As I am at my wits end so I decided to go & see the counsellor at her school just to discuss what I could possibly do with this relationship with this older boy. I was horrified to know that the counsellor already knew the boy and the relationship he had with a younger student at the school but she didn't know which girl. I also found out during this visit that this boy was known to all the teachers for various reasons. But the counsellor was not surprised that he had chosen my DD (as she is a beautiful girl) as she fits the profile of the type of girls he likes. I also find out that the boys name my DD had told me wasn’t his name at all.

I wanted to show the counsellor some of the text messages sent between them and it is then I found out that she has stolen the Sim card from her mobile phone. I was gutted that my DD would steal the card. The counsellor calls DD to the office and asks for the Sim card to which she was told she lost it. After an hour of to & froing between DD friends in the search for the missing Sim card. DD is told to go back to class and I would cancel her Sim card when I got home but as a last ditch effort I ask her to check her pockets 1 more time and surprise surprise guess what the Sim card was in her pocket the whole time. Mind you though I could see it in her pocket the whole time but was hoping she would hand it over willingly. So needless to say I was HURT not angry but HURT that she looked me in the eye and blatantly lied to me and the counsellor.

I was at the counsellor's office for 2 hours but we did decide that the best way to deal with this situation is to speak with the boy and tell him to back off as he is breaking the school rules and it is illegal to have any relations with a child under 16.

After she got home from school she was told of the consequences of her actions. After the initial YOU EMBARRASS ME! I HATE YOU! I WISH I WAS DEAD! YOU DESTROYED MY LIFE! Blah Blah Blah. She was told she is banned from mobile phones, Internet, computer, home phone, digital camera, hair straightener, hair dryer, make-up, nail polish etc for at least the next month. Although there is a condition on the Internet & PC she is to be supervised & only school projects to done.

So I am not sure how this will go tomorrow at school but she has been quite good so far. The boy phoned on Friday night & she was allowed to speak with him for 5 minutes in front of me. Her best friend phoned Saturday night and she left a message asking for DD her return her call but this message was not forwarded onto DD, she can find out tomorrow at school.

I text the boy Friday night and told him (as my DD) that friends is all they should be. To my delight he agreed to this. But I am yet to see if anything happens tomorrow at school about this situation.

So I have to have 10 sets of eyes on her at all times to make sure she doesn't do anything silly like stealing my mobile phone. She was also talked to about suicide in case she thought about it (from personal experience she is aware of how suicide affects those left behind)

DD has good behaviour at present (but still annoys the crap out of DS) and is hoping that I will relent and let her have her hair straightener in time for school tomorrow morning and her mobile phone as her alarm is set on it to wake her. Keep wishing DD Keep wishing!!!!

Good News at last

Yes! you read right. My niece is on her way home from the hospital as I type (she is on the train home right now and will arrive home at approx 10pm). She does have to go back in about 6 weeks time to have the creases made in her ear, as at the moment her new ear it is like a pocket of sorts.

On Tuesday afternoon my niece Summer-Rose underwent several hours of extensive reconstruction on her Right ear at the Royal Women's & Children's Hospital in Brisbane. Summer had a rib and cartilage removed and used to make the creases in her ear (she was born with only 1 full ear and a bud of flesh for her other, she has no ear opening either but she does have an eardrum).

My sister and mum are both staying at Ronald McDonald House near the hospital. Next time I visit or go through the drive through at McDonald's I definitely will be leaving a nice donation (something I haven't done before) to say "Thank You" for their care and compassion they have showed towards my family during their stay down there for the next week or so.

On my family's return to RMH Tuesday evening they had a near death experience (my mum's words) as the walk back to RMH is only 1 kilometre but they had to walk on the footpath that was barely 1 metre wide as there is road works going on outside the hospital. So needless to say is was quite scary for them as the traffic was flat out and full on at that hour of the evening.

Last evening I phoned the hospital to enquire on my niece's health and was advised by the great nurses on her ward that she was doing just fine, she has several drains attached to her neck and ear. And she is in control of her pain via a morphine syringe driver. She has finally had something to eat, drink and passed urine too. As she was too scared to do so before now in case she vomited (something she don't like doing - who does?).

Scrapcrazy attended my class tonight and wow we blitzed the lesson for 2 pages in 1 & 1/2 hours instead of the 3 hours it normally would have taken. I have some more Sassafrass Lass pages on the boil for next weeks class.

The Big Night has arrived

Some of you may know that it is Confirmation, First Communion and Euchrist time again. My son's was earlier tonight at Holy Rosary Church here in Bundaberg.

Doesn't he look smashing in his little tuxedo!!! A real little man...

Not to be outdone DD also dressed up for the occassion (if she had her way she would have outshone DS on his big night.) Miss M had used up all her battery power on her dig camera before the night had begun, taking photos left, right and centre before we got to the church. (I have no idea where she gets that from NO IDEA what so ever!!!) LOL.

I do have other photos but they will have to wait until Monday when Camera House opens as I borrowed a Very Good Friends film camera for tonight as my dig camera is crap at taking night-time pictures. THANK YOU SANDRA for the loan of the camera and popping into the church tonight you could not have timed your visit any better. I was thrilled to know that you made the time and effort to come along I really really do appreciate our friendship!!!

Today I wasn't at work as I was attending my Uncle Bob's funeral back home. While the funeral was held at the crematorium it was still a lovely service. Rest In Peace Uncle Bob. While I was close to the cementary I went to visit my Grandparents graves also.

It was nice to see relatives despite the circumstances we met up under today.

Mum was with me and she wasn't looking the best to be honest. She returned from her almost 2 weeks vacation only last night.

While back home I went to see my sister but unfortunatley she wasn't in a great place today (I can't elaborate anymore as I don't wish to upset her more than she is at the moment). Little Sis if you read this tonight remember

and I hope that the kids loved the cake when they got home from school. Sorry I couldn't stay longer but you know how it is (sorry everyone else - family secrets).

It has been nippy here recently, the bleeping cold breeze blows through you like a hard cold knife.

Miss M has just finished her 1st semester at high school and hopefully she toed the line, time will tell when her report card comes in the mail. Maybe, if we could get her away from the mirror, make-up and hair straightener we might see more of her.

His Nibs did well at school this semester and coping well with his big sis not being there. He comes home each day with a "How was your day Mum?" (don't you just love it when they ask about your well being - but can tend to drive you batty when they ask 5 times a day because they forgot that they had already asked!)

Friends are few and far between but all are well. Would love to catch up more with Shannon and bub but time is so sparse lately. Hope you are both well Shannon.

Mum is off on a weeks holidays soon so be safe mum (hope that Qantas isn't on strike then or she's several $100's down the drain)

Welcome Back

Oh my Gosh! What a week. Sew whats crafty expo, the local show, my son's 9th Birthday and all in the 2 weeks before WINTER gets here officially!!!!

I have heard many whispers around town that all who attended enjoyed the Sew Whats Crafty Expo (I know I did).

I also heard that the Retreat held on the same weekend was a Huge Success (as usual) I have heard that there was more food than anyone could imagine. I am glad that all attendees enjoyed themselves. I was missing naturally as I had to work but thems the breaks. You lucky buggers.

Nothing much else happening except OH MY GOSH WINTER IS COMING BRR BRR (I hate winter).

My friends out there who happen to peek at my blog you are invited to This 'N' That Scrap Shack on Friday Night 30th May 2008 from 6.00 p.m. till Midnight for a Crop Till You Drop.

1st Day of work for 3 Months

Yes! again I am back in employment since being replaced while on sick leave in January, I did not have a job to return to when I recovered.

I had a lovely 1st day, it was so nice to see a few friends drop in and wish me well on my first day. But I hope to see more of you over the coming days/weeks. I am in store all day tomorrow so I hope to see someone tomorrow.

My mum comes to visit by train tomorrow. It has been nearly 5 months since she was here last. Yes, I did go down to see her just around Christmas time & her birthday, so it will be nice to have her here even though she is only here for a few short days.

Well got to run screaming ratbags (I mean kids) to feed, chores to be done, and sleeping to be had (hopefully).

I know it has been 4 months since my last blog but, nothing really interesting has happened.

I have completed 20+ layouts since last school holidays. Insomnia I don't recommend it to anyone.

I have been getting together with a few friends and scrapping every 2nd Friday night. My house on the 25th. Since the local hangout was been sold it isn't the same going there on Friday nights. I felt very uncomfortable on my last visit there. Oh well thems the breaks.

A baby.....bloody ugly baby

Several weeks ago my husband bought my son 2 supposedly female Zebra finches, who then laid 6 eggs and finally hatched 1 baby the weekend of my daughter's 12th birthday. Sadly, the baby died 2 days later as mum & dad had kicked it out of the nest (first time parents) as this was their first breeding this can happen from time to time.
This was a learning curve for my son & husband to stop spying on them every 5 minutes. The supposedly 2 females have now laid again. I have been advised that Zebra finches breed worse than rabbits and can nest anywhere, including the seed container.

I tended my resignation, effective immediately, from the scrapbooking club to Petrina and Cassie early last month (before the Girls Nite In) so I am glad that WE raised so much money for the Cancer Council, it made my last get together with you all. I shall miss you all but, unfortunately, I felt I had no other option other that to do this.

But, on a different note, I shall be attending another Sunday scrap get together sessions elsewhere in Bundy (hopefully this eventuates). More details as they come to hand.

He's Home

Yes, we got home earlier today. BUT, if he doesn't keep anything down tonight he is back to hospital for an IV to be put in again.
He looks like death warmed up - completely different to the little man who came out of theatre with a smile. The anaethastic has really knocked him for a 12 (worse than a 6).
SO, we all had spaghetti (out of a tin kind) for tea, just so he would eat something (hope it stays down).
I can't afford another day off work, as I had 2 weeks off just 2 weeks ago, so if he is sick then Miss has to skip another day of school (as dad can't do 2 things at once apparently, but mums can do more than 2 at once!!)

Hospital Stay

My little man is currently in hospital. Nothing too serious, but, he had his Adenoid Tonsillectomy earlier this morning and he isn't doing too well at the moment. He was fine when he came out of theatre "Patient of the Day" he was named by recovery nurses. His 1st does of pain killers was 2 hours after he left recovery but this afternoon he took a turn just after I left his side to come home to have a shower and finish off my tax return (another story for another day) I got back to the hospital to find my little trooper looking quite green around the gills indeed. So upon relieving dad of his watch keeping duties my little man decided that he didn't want to keep down his little sandwich & ice cream anymore and bought it up along with blood, spit etc. Needless to say this happened just 5 minutes before the ENT specialist walked in the door to check on him. Dr decided that my little man had to stay overnight (to start with). OK I can live with that but, Gianni was sick again (after being given some medicine to stop him from being sick) more blood, spit etc was bought up - just for mum - YAHOO, thank you son!

I left dad on watch duties tonight while I bought Miss Attitude home to go to bed as she has to go to school tomorrow (despite having today off). I will relieve dad of his duties tomorrow morning after taking Miss to school, might drop into the hospital first though.

Well only a few hours left til The CAC Scrap Day. It is unfortunate that it falls within the same week as the Wonder Women's Scrap Nite, as there will only be approx 12 of us but still an nice enough number of scrapper to have an enjoyable day scrapping, yakking etc.

But before I even start the day off scrapping I have a fashion parade I am going to attend with my friend Dianne (we met approx 6 months ago now where I previously worked) She has been a great listener, great advise too what more can a gal need.

Those who know me personally know that I will do anything for anyone no questions asked. But you know who your real mates are when the chips are down.

I am not well at the moment - I have got "A Typical Pneumonia", just a few weeks after having "Influenza A". YES! I was immunised earlier this year but I still got sick anyway, just a week before the Girls Nite In fundraiser, glad I got sick before and not during.

Time to take another antihistamine and off to bed for me.
